When is Arden?
In 2010 Sunday 1st to Saturday 7th August for Guides and Brownies
Saturday 31st July to Sunday 8th August for Senior Section and adults helping run the camp.
Saturday 31st July in the afternoon can also be used by group camp leaders to put up their tents
Who can come to Arden?
Within the UK - Brownies 7 + years of age, Guides 10+ years of age to do activities.
Senior section 14+ who have a choice of 100% activities, 50% activities or no activities - the % activities chosen is reflected in the price.
Internationals Guides / Girl Scouts 12+ ( although this can be negotiated with the International team)
Helpers - Guide Leaders, Scouters or anyone interested in helping. Everyone from within the UK must have a current CRB.
If leaders have younger children less than 7 then they can go to the crèche which is open during the day Monday to Friday.
Leaders with older children not part of Guiding can still come provided they take part in activities.

What are the sub-camps?
Participants will be camping on one of seven subcamps -
      C
entral for adults not taking girls or helping run the camp
      Trefoil - for members of the trefoil guild
      Senior section 14+ (this camp has rule for 14 to 18 year olds)
      One of three guide camps
      Brownie camp for brownies 7+

Can we camp as a unit?
Units can form their own group camp on a sub camp or they can camp as part of a larger group generally made up of Districts or Divisions. The preferred max number for a group camp would be 30.
What transport is there?:
For units coming from within Warwickshire, coaches will be laid on to transport you from designated spots within the county to the camp and return you to the same spot.
For units outside Warwickshire plans can be made to pick you up from Birmingham coach station or one of the railway stations near to Blackwell if required. Please let us know what you would like to do.
Internationals - we will pick you up from Birmingham airport or one of the Birmingham railway stations and bring you to the camp.

Is there a creche?
Yes, it will be run by Beth and Jane Johnson. Sessions will be 10- 12.30 and 2.00- 4.30 every day. £2.00 per session (£20 for the week) If parents require places for 2 children 2nd child would be half price. They will cater for children 7 and under with a different theme each day.

What is the Camp Programme?
It is planned to have the opening ceremony on Sunday night, with small activities during the day as a warm up to the camp.
Activities then run every day during the week except on Wednesday which is the special centenary day.
There will also be evening activities every day Monday to Friday.
The closing ceremony will then take place on Friday evening.
As the camp approaches more details will be given on the activities and who can do which ones.

How do we cook?
Cooking can be done on open altar fires or with gas.

Are dogs allowed on the site?
We are sorry we cannot allow dogs on site for health and safety reasons.

How many people are coming to Arden?
We expect to have 800 participants, so together with staff there will be over 1000 on the site.

Can brownies and guides visit for the day?
There are no plans for a visitors day for brownies and guides to Arden
