CENTENARY SWIMMING GALA

City of Coventry North Divisions marked Girlguiding UK's Centenary with another high energy Splash out at Bedworth Leisure Centre.

Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Senior Section &Leaders joined together to have fun in the water, Coventry North have three districts Keresley, Longford and Wyken, each putting in a team from the youngest rainbow aged 5 years to leaders over 50's race. The girls and young women enjoyed freestyle and obstacle and relay races.

Kirsty a young guider "it was really great to see and hear everyone shouting and cheering their district, I had a really good day and I can't remember the last time I laughed so much".

Coventry Trophy Centre sponsored the event, each district received a trophy and all swimmers received a certificate.

The Lord Mayor Councillor Jack Harrison and his wife Jill, the Lady Mayoress, kindly came to present the trophies to the district Commissioners and Presidents.

Moira Stewart, Coventry North Division Commissioner said ' everyone had a great time and the scores were so very close with the relay being the decider giving Keresley district triumph.
I would like to thank those who helped with the organising and running, all who came on the day whether to take part or support, our sponsor, Lord and Lady Mayoress and especially Bedworth Leisure centre for allowing us to hold this fun event'
