BROWNIES KNIT FOR MALAWI
Brownies in the 4th Bilton pack have been set a half-term challenge to knit scarves to raise money for the 'Health Link Malawi' appeal organised by University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW). The pack has chosen this cause as their world action project as part of the Right Now 'Right to be Happy' badge which all the Brownies hope to achieve. They are learning about rights and responsibilities and are organising a number of fundraising events so that they can raise as much money as possible to support the project. UHCW are supporting two hospitals in Malawi, a poor, deprived country which has a major HIV infection problem and a shortage of healthcare staff.
All the Brownies have been challenged to knit a scarf which can be sold to raise funds. These will be sold on their stall at a table top sale organised by Dunchurch Guides on the 3rd March at Dunchurch Village Hall.
Brown Owl, Andrea Elson says, "We are also be happy to receive knitted scarves from anybody who wanted to support our project."
