Walking for Water and World Thinking Day Fund


Rugby Division celebrated Thinking Day by using the WAGGGS theme, "Think About Water"
Over two hundred girls from all sections, acompanied by leaders, parents, siblings and boyfriends gathered at the local reservoir, Draycote Water. There, they learned about the importance of clean water and the effect on those people denied a supply of safe water, before setting off to walk round the reservoir.
Girls were invited to bring an empty water bottle filled with loose change and raised a total of £1040 which was divided bewteen the World Thinking Day Fund and Water Aid.
The picture shows girls from all four sections together with Dunchurch District Commissioner, who co-ordinated the event, presenting a cheque to Mrs Kay Thorpe from Water Aid.
