Baden Powell Award

The Baden-Powell Challenge Award really is a challenge

You will need to complete ten clauses (tasks) that will get you to try new things and push your boundaries – it’s not easy, but it’s worth it!

It can take 12 to 18 months to complete the Baden-Powell Award, but your amazing, all-round efforts will be recognised. Plus you'll have lots of adventures on the way. You might:

  • organise an international evening

  • run a sports or cooking competition

  • go on a residential trip somewhere new - like a hostel or on a narrowboat

  • learn first aid

  • or do something to help the environment.

  •

The more creative you get with your clauses, the more of an adventure it will be.

Most exciting of all, at the end you'll get to go on your Baden-Powell Adventure - a special residential event just for Guides who are about to complete the Award.

It is very important that all forms are filled in with the required information and is readable, it makes sending confirmations very difficult if I do not have an e-mail address.

The idea of the BP Adventure is that Guides go along to make friends with Guides from other Units, Districts and Divisions, so when deciding on an Adventure make sure Guides know they may arrive not knowing anyone, but leave with a whole new set of Guiding friends!

Leaders need to register any Guides working on the BP Challenge Award, then we will be able to plan how many Adventures are needed.

For more information or booking guides please contact Katie.

We are in the process of planning for new Adventures in the New Year, please look out for details in future Newsletters.

If you would like to organise a BP Adventure, please contact Katie.

Do not forget that there are lots of other Adventures organised by Girlguiding Activity Centres, please see the links below. These Adventures will need to be booked directly with the Centres and I will need to know the dates the Guides have attended.

A gentle reminder to Leaders that you need to register any Guides working on the BP Challenge Award, we have no way of knowing how many Adventures are needed if Guides are not registered. Forms are available from katie.
