Narrow Boat Training

Two training weekends aboard Centenary have been booked for 2017:

13th – 15th October

The cost of the trainings is £80.00,  including food.

The training sessions will need 6 candidates to be able to run, otherwise we incur a loss.

The cost is very favourable compared with other courses such as CCBM (£180) or RYA (£250 not including food!). If you have prior experience on the canals, then the expectation is that you should be able to complete the qualification within one weekend.

If you need extra experience on the canals, then this can also be arranged. If you are interested in training, please contact Vicki James via E-mail.

More dates to be confimed for  2018

Squash Tea and Coffee provided

Please bring your own lunch

£15 per head

Our boat, Centenary, is moored at Hillmorton, near Rugby and we will pick up and deliver back to there each day. We can take a maximum of 10 people per day, one of whom must be a Leader. Since there will already be two Leaders on board, Girlguiding ratios will be covered. Each day will include a trip on the boat, a craft, a quiz and possibly a badge.  The days will be suitable for Brownies, Guides or The Senior Section (depending on applications the activities will be age specific). If you would like to bring some of your girls to experience the wonderful canals we have in our County, then just complete the Application Form, from March's County Newsheet and send it to: Vicki. Once the forms and deposits have been received, further information will be sent regarding final payments, suitable clothing etc. Let’s go and have some fun on the water!”
