An opportunity to explore and share different ways of not just doing good guiding … but great guiding

Programme …. Overview

An introduction to the Programme that was introduced last year and has now replaced the former programme

Programme …. 1 year on

An opportunity to share ideas on what is working well and discuss elements that you would like support with 

Safe Space

An opportunity to complete all / some of the required Safe Space levels for your role.

Levels 1 & 2 – YL; UH; Assistant Leaders

Levels 1,2 & 3: 1 leader per unit; those who use their Going Away With licence; mentors; Commissioners

New to Guiding

An opportunity to find out more about each section, the Guiding family, jargon, opportunities for girls & leaders and more (covers some of the LQ clauses)

Some key points to note:

  • Cost – all sessions are free

  • ½ day attendance is available if required

  • Sessions will be cross-sectional

  • The duration of the Programme / Doing Your Best sessions will be adapted depending on whether you are attending for a full or ½ day.

  • Do you have any additional requirements?  Please mention these on the application form if have any mobility / additional needs that the organisers / trainers can take into consideration when planning the event.

  • Guide wear should be worn.  Please bring a notepad and pen with you.

  • Crèche – Regrettably we are unable to provide a crèche.

  • Lunch break - Please bring a packed lunch with you. During the lunch break the County Advisors will be there for you to seek advice. Fundraising stalls will also be available.

  • Tea, coffee and squash available  please bring a mug with you. A small no. of cups will be available if you forget yours.
